Service dog School

I did a post about going to the guide dog school, but never did one about the service dog school. I went there on the first day I was in Japan (not the night I got there, the next morning). It was in Tokyo where my host mother's sister lives. Since my host family lived about 6 hours away from the service dog school, their relatives offered to take us there in their car. I had a lot of fun, and they showed us some commands they teach the dogs.
I tried to load 2 videos but only 1 will work, she was showing us how the dogs learn to close doors.

The lady with the paper in her hand was
explaining how they teach the dogs (yes in
Japanese!)

This trainer was showing us how they train the dogs to pull wheelchairs and retrieve stuff for
handicap people.

Wow! That's really cool! I know someone who's getting a service dog, maybe even this week, they had to delay her getting him for a whole month, he was learning how to pull a wheelchair into the van. I can't wait to meet him! Looks like you had fun! WORKING DOGS ROCK!!!!
