Wednesday July 9th, 1:40pm your time
I am on my second plane right now. My first one was quite boring since I had no one my age beside me to talk to. But the airplane to Seattle that I am on, and have been on for the past 3 and half hours, is more fun. I am sitting beside 2 girls my age one of which is going to Japan. I just finished watching Chicken Run with the girl beside me named Mary.
I didn’t have too wait to long to be picked up in Chicago, but once I was picked up I had to go back out to the airplane to get my carry-on since I had been told it would be transferred to my next flight (no not my checked luggage), but the people who picked me up told me to go back out and find my bag, since they won’t send it on to my next plane. But I am on an airplane now, and have both my bags. In less than an hour we should be arriving in Seattle. Oh they are giving out drinks…bye!
9:33pm (and its past midnight for you!!)
We went out to eat at a place called Rain Forest Café. We were there and seated right away, then waited 30 minutes just to get our drinks we ordered. Then, we ordered our food which took over an hour to show up. After we finished eating, we paid and waited for our change. Since one of our members complained to the manager our food was cheaper (mine was over $7 and I ended up paying $2! ). We waited a whole hour for our money, and some people just gave up and left and ended up not getting their change. We finally got our money and left to go to Barnes and Nobles, where we shopped for awhile and then came back to our hotel room. I was going to call home and tell them I am getting ready to go to bed, but then I decided that they might not be to happy to get a phone call at 1:00 in the morning!!!
Thursday July 10th, 3:20pm (6:16pm your time)
I am on my way to Japan!!
I have been on the airplane for about 3 hours. It’s a really HUGE airplane; I am sitting beside another 4-Her named Casey. I just finished eating lunch. Our choices were Chicken Curry or Meat Loaf. I got Meat loaf and Casey got the Curry. They just shut all the windows so now it is really dark in here. I woke up at 5:30 in the morning and couldn’t get back to sleep, so another girl and I did some packing. The 4-H group(including me) went and ate breakfast at 7:15am. I then updated my blog and sent a postcard to my family. After being bored for a little while we went to the airport, weighed our suitcases, and then the whole group headed to Security. Now my first flight (out of Charlotte) I had to do Special Security since my route was changed at the last moment. And then when I got my ticket this time they said I get to go through Special Security! I have no clue why it was me out the other 44 people in our group. Nothing bad was found on me and I didn’t beep. I got some pictures of the plane I am on so if internet on my computer will work in Japan then I will be posting pictures alot!
8:17pm (and I think it is the 11th here since they are a day ahead of you)
I made it to Japan okay, my suitcase was easy to find and we shipped them to our houses pretty quickly so we didn’t take it with us to the hotel. It was about a 2 hour drive from the airport to the hotel, we were riding a really big bus and not even half of us were on it! My roommates just got back from taking a public shower, me and some others decided to wait until we got to our host family’s house to take a shower/bath. We each got a little towel that came from the 100 yen store (dollar store) and we are allowed to keep it or throw it away. Everybody else says they’re jet lagged. I so far am not, but when I wake up tomorrow I might be! On the way to Japan I watched (on the TV screen in front of me) Suite life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana, Corry’s in the House, and some others that were playing. We also got to view a map on the screen, and it showed how far till we get there, a picture of where we are, and some other things about Japan.
I got some chips, a candy bar, and a cookie after lunch was served on the airplane. I have to go to bed now since there is a walk at 6:30 in the morning.
